Villar commends foundation for organizing OFW families expo at PTTC
9/9/06

Senate President Manny Villar commended yesterday the Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation, Inc. (POFW-SMENFI) for organizing the Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum 2006 and Pamilyang OFWs-SMEs Housing & Home Essentials Trade Fair 2006 which will be held on Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.

POFW-SMENFI president George Arriola said the former is the 3rd Philippine exhibition and conference on job, livelihood, investment and business opportunities for the seafarers and their families while the latter is the 2nd Philippine exhibition on real estate projects and home necessities for the OFW and SME families.

In his message to the POFW-SMENFI, Villar said: “I commend the POFW-SMENFI for another worthy endeavor that will surely benefit our country's modern-day heroes, the OFWs. Moreover, I am glad that you share my vision of turning OFWs into Overseas Filipino Investors or OFIs.”

Villar further said: “Now, more than ever, with many OFWs coming back home due to various unfortunate reasons such as war or conflict in the countries they work in, retrenchment or forced resignation among others, we need to provide OFWs as well as their families with support or help in scouting for opportunities where they can invest their hard-earned money. The government, the private sector and the OFWs themselves and their families should work hand in hand to come up with a consistent and comprehensive reintegration program for the displaced OFWs.”

“Through the POFW-SMENFI's regular events and activities, OFWs and their families can search for job, livelihood, investment and business opportunities that are available locally,” he finally stated.

The POFW-SMENFI (tel. no. 912-58-03) pioneered in organizing events aimed at ensuring the transformation of a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs. What is important, in order for the OFW families to succeed, is by giving them vital and useful information which is the role being played since 1994 by the foundation in cooperation with the government, private and non-government organization sectors.

OFW families urged to attend SM Mega, PTTC events this September
8/30/06

The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation, Inc. (POFW-SMENFI) urged yesterday the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), including those displaced during the Israel-Lebanon conflict, and their families to attend three major events this September at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City and the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) in Pasay City.

POFW-SMENFI President George A. Arriola said the first event is the Philippine Investment & Financial Planning Expo which will be held on Sept. 1-3 at the Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall. The expo will offer an integrated environment of a financial hub, where visitors learn from the best, compare financial products, explore possibilities, and see the upcoming trends of financial planning and wealth management.

Organized by the Imageplus Business Solutions, the highlights of the expo signify the investors' four quadrant of wealth management needs which are wealth creation, wealth accumulation, wealth protection, and wealth distribution.

Arriola said the other two events are the Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum 2006 and Pamilyang OFWs-SMEs Housing & Home Essentials Trade Fair 2006 which will be held on Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the Lobby and Hall A of the PTTC. Organized by the POFW-SMENFI, the former is the 3rd Philippine exhibition and conference on job, livelihood, investment and business opportunities for the seafarers and their families while the latter is the 2nd Philippine exhibition on real estate projects and home necessities for the OFW and SME families.

The POFW-SMENFI (tel. no. 912-58-03) pioneered in organizing events aimed at ensuring the transformation of a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs. Many OFW families have free time and excess money which they can utilize as investment in small business enterprises.

What is important, in order for them to succeed, is by giving them vital and useful information which is the role being played since 1994 by the foundation in cooperation with the government, private and non-government organization sectors.
